San - Burning Sun
Represents: the intensely burning sunset he was seeing while detained at Siberian labour camp. He said, "There in Siberia I felt all hope had fled. And the sunsets were so beautiful ! The big red sun going down below the horizon. The glittering gold and silver sea. All that beauty I would dye before my Tsujigahana (...) That sun penetrated clouds and swirling dust. It made everything beautiful and warm. This kimono is the primary source. It led to my "Symphony of Light".
